We study gas processes
associated with galaxy formation such as accretion shocks and atomic
cooling of gas in computer simulations and analytic analysis. The
hydrodynamic simulations used trace the dark-matter and baryons from the
big-bang until present day, tracing the amount of gas and stars, and
allowing comparison with astrophysical observations. In this context we
also investigate the effects of magnetic fields, and cosmic ray
particles on galaxy formation and on the behavior of the interstellar
matter galaxies. |
